Historic opening of the Iranian president Rohani: Iran can collaborate with USA on the crisis in Iraq
Iran does not exclude the possibility of collaborating with the United States on the crisis in Iraq, the Iranian president Hassan Rohani said.
“If the United States will come against terrorist groups, we can think it is a collaboration ‘but up to now from part of Washington there has been no action’, the President said.
Iran is ready to help Iraq with respect for international law, has also said Rohani, as reported by Al Arabyia, stating however that Baghdad has not requested the aid of Tehran.
Iran has no intention to intervene militarily in Iraq but ‘gave advice to Baghdad on how to tackle terrorism’, stated the President of Iran in a press conference highlighting the ‘difference between help and intervene’.
At the time, insisted Rowhani, ‘we have not received any request on the part of Iraq, but we are ready to help Baghdad on the basis of the international laws and the will of the people and the Iraqi government’. The Iraqis ‘can defeat terrorism alone’.
Iran has sent in Iraq general Qassem Suleimani, gray eminence of revolutionary guards, to meet in Baghdad the Iraqi authorities. They write the american media that describe Suleimani as a figure who works in the shadow’, which is very powerful, the man who has organized and manages the military support of Tehran to the regime of Bashar al Assad in Syria. Not only that, the general would be the brain behind the training of troops iraqi shiite who fought against the Americans.
